What a coincidence!
I am that person. In fact, I graduated in May and just finished
burning come copies of the CD that I included as the main part of my
thesis project (they wanted a paper version as well, so I had to do
that). I would like some compensation for the time, expertise and
material costs, but want it at a price that art teachers would deem
as fair. What do you think?
If you are interested in the CD, let me know.
What's on the CD?
Two powerpoint presentations (about 40 slides each), one of art
software for students with physical disabilities, and the other with
assistive products for that population that would be appropriate for
the art classroom. Both have hyperlinks to web sites and are full of
pictures. An informative description of the devices is included, a
literature review, a definitions file, and descriptions of some
students manifesting a variety of physical limitations in the art
room and what hardware and software adaptations would be appropriate.
Other things: a quicktime movie of three students with varying levels
of physical disabilities using assistive technology with art
software, and a file-based HTML site that can be viewed in any web
browser (offline or on). For those that have kids that use the
Discover:Board or switches, I also have setups and layouts for many
of the software pieces commonly used in the art classroom.
